I'm sitting in a porch swing while they're sitting in a camp.

It's a beautiful day in Illinois today. 75F. Partly sunny. The grass is getting long. It's bright green. We will need to mow soon. I'm sitting on my deck in my hammock.

They kidnapping people off of the streets. I'm sitting in a hammock and watching on TikTok, video after video. All of the men being taken. ICE don't wear uniforms. They're in unmarked cars. They're just grabbing people off of the street.

I'm sitting in my hammock. I like it here. Swinging is calming to me. The warm air and sun feels nice on my face. It's quiet today. There's alot we need to do around here. Trash blows into our yard from the local shops’ litter. We need to stain the deck, and wash the chairs. The pool should be opened soon.

We found out where they're taking the children. They're handcuffing toddlers. I wish I was joking but I'm not. They're going to tender age facilities. Without their parents. & no They're not a cozy as they sound. Toddlers. As young as 2.

I didn't do the dishes thismorning, or start the laundry. Have you noticed how insane it sounds to be talking about all of this stuff interchangeably? Good. Because that's how it feels to live here right now.

Have you seen the footage of CeCot? 80 men and two toilets in a cell. I cant even pee in front of my own wife. What if someone is sick? I'll let your brain do the horrific math. They don't feed them well and they don't get water. It's hot there. Somehow it's never full. They tell you the only way out is in a coffin. & yet they keep taking more people. They always have room. Again, you do the math.

We had to renew our passports today, but we upgraded to books. They make you give them the cards while they process the books. Could take 6 weeks. I cried leaving the post office. I'm terrified to not have my card. Why? Because we don't have due process anymore. They're kidnapping people off of the streets and who carries around a birth certificate?! But also, we can't leave. 6 weeks is a long, LONG time right now. If he closes the borders, were trapped. & before you run to my comments like “oh but they're not coming for you”. Yet. Yet. They're not coming for us yet. But they might be in 3 weeks or in 6.

The Nazis killed 11M people. Only 6M of them were Jews. Auschwitz was not in Germany either. CeCot is not in the US. They're kidnapping people without due process. A prison without due process, based on someone's ethnicity, is a concentration camp.

But I should really go. Ive been in my hammock a long time. It's almost time to make dinner and I need to sweep the porch first. Make sure the house isn't too warm, let the dogs out. You know. Act normal.
